Robert Leibrock is Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Red Hat. In this role, he oversees the accounting, finance and planning, sales operations, and deal management functions. He previously spent more than 19 years at IBM, holding various roles across the CFO organization with most of that time focused on the software business.

During that period, Leibrock was a key member on the leadership team that drove IBM’s acquisition of Red Hat. Upon closure, he transitioned to a broader business role focused on post-close planning and execution. His scope from the IBM side included the overall synergy project office, finance and operations functions, and offering development between the companies. Leibrock’s last role at IBM was as the company's assistant controller overseeing finance & planning, operational management systems, and IBM’s research division.

Earlier in his tenure, Leibrock held financial leadership roles for IBM’s Software Segment, as well as business units across security software, automation software, cloud platform, global technology services (now Kyndryl) and mainframe. Across these roles, Leibrock drove success in IBM’s M&A strategy in areas such as security with Q1Labs or automation with FileNet, as well as portfolio management decisions with divestitures and spin-offs.
